STEP 1: Online Membership Registration

Register with the BCBUA for the 2026 Season

Register Now

Registration Costs:

  • $20 for birth years 2015 & 2016 (11U aged)
  • $35 for birth years 2013 & 2014 (13U aged)
  • $65 for birth years 2012 and older (15U aged and above)

STEP 2: Register for BCBUA Clinics

Once an umpire has registered above for BCBUA then they can register for a clinic

IMPORTANT: Two Requirements for Certification

BOTH MUST BE COMPLETED EACH YEAR:

  • Online Theory & Exam - done at your own pace
  • In-Person Clinic - can attend North Langley hosted clinic or any other clinic

Do I need to register and complete training every year?

Umpires must register and complete training each year to be eligible to umpire.

Who is eligible for Level 2 certification and what does it cover?

Those birth years 2012 and older who have been certified as Level 1 previously are eligible to register for Level 2 clinics. This adds the additional rule sets that come with 13U and older baseball including:

  • Leadoffs
  • Pickoffs
  • Balks
  • Infield fly rule
  • Dropped 3rd strike

How long does the Level 2 program take to complete?

Level 2 is a two year program. Umpires will be offered Offence and Defence courses in alternating years.
